Day 151 of 365: Last Time In Fresno
Wednesday, May 30, 2012
I'm doing this blog early since I won't be coming back to my pad in Lemoore on time. I brought my laptop with me just to ensure that I got the blog done before it was due. Today I decided to use the Canon G12 to document what had happened so far. I tell ya that the quality of this camera is pretty amazing given that it's only 10mp's and it's a point-and-shoot. This will definitely help lighten the bag I carry with me everyday.
Other than that my day so far was pretty interesting. Again, I keep forgetting that the light here in Fresno is gorgeous in the morning. Some of the colours really bring out the saturation of the buildings in Tower and how some of the textures really pop given the light's angle. It first began at the Revue Coffee Shop as I was killing time before heading to the W.E.B. Dubois Charter School that's south of Fresno. It's a small school that my friend Anoush Ekparian teaches at. I had the opportunity to tell kids about the relationships of photography through the Civil Rights Movement and how few photographers were there to document it's history. The class was amazing and the kids were definitely attentive to me. I had the power and it felt good.
Afterwards I met up with Bob Pero and Mellissa Olson to support them in an exhibit they were part of at the Fresno Convention Center. Like always their work is superb. I'm always excited to see what they're working on. After that I went back to the Revue and just processed these images I took. This camera is pretty damn awesome so I'll be doing more photo blogging with it in the weeks to come. Stay tuned.
