INSTANT PORTRAIT #5

Hartford, Ct / November 2016

This is James. He is a painter that is local in the community who my wife had bought a piece from. We hope to see more work from him in the coming years.

STILL LIFE #4 - BLANKET

At Home / Cromwell, Ct / 2016

I've been a fan of photographing this blanket since I saw it. I love the textures of it and especially when it is exposed properly you can really see these fine details. I know it doesn't show on this image (probably one of the images that helped me get the groove on my SX70), but damn this blanket is probably going to be on more posts.

Outside Landscape / Cromwell, Ct / 2016

I have a downhill road that I have to drive through everyday and it's kinda scary during this winter season. Luckily I have nice tires that I spent $800 on *sigh*. So far this view has helped me appreciate the surroundings of my new place. It's quite nice and I'm expecting to shoot a lot just in my backyard.

INSTANT PORTRAIT #4

Hartford, Ct / November 2016

Her friend from the last post was just as friendly as she was. I'm guessing they are both in school trying to acquire extra credit. This was the time the Pokemon craze was still fire and much of the community were trying to just catch Pokemon on their phone for a bit. She was cool and easy to talk to as well.

STILL LIFE #3 - JELLY & BUTTER

Friday, January 20, 2017

At Home / Cromwell, Ct / 2016

I love jelly and butter on my bagels. Probably one of the best combos of flavors to this day. This used to be my usual breakfast, but lately I've been bad at not eating in the morning. Perhaps 2017 will help me cure that.

My New Back Porch / Cromwell, Ct / 2016

I can't remember if we had already rented the place out or I took these images on the time the place was being looked at and signed off. Either way I knew that being here would change the way I would use space. At this moment I'm still getting used to having a bigger place. I'm not sure when I'll be fully logged in, but I gotta admit that I'm liking where I'm at.

Hartford, Ct / November 2016

This guy was observing a couple of pieces for this event that was happening. I think it was for school extra credit. He was definitely approachable and welcoming for a portrait. I just shot the shit with him and we laughed for a couple of minutes. Not pictured was his Pokemon bag he had. It was pretty sick.

STILL LIFE #2 - PLATE & KNIFE

From the previous post I think this was the before picture of last image. This light was emitting in such a way and just had to take a picture.

Hospital Waits / Middletown, Ct / 2016

I don't really like being in these spaces. This point of the year I had some anxiety about the status of my health. I'm in my thirties and I haven't been to the doctor in years. But here I am... Luckily everything was a-okay. It still doesn't give me the excuse to go out and start eating a bunch of garbage though.

INSTANT PORTRAIT #2

Monday, January 9, 2017

Hartford, Ct / November 2016

She was a photographer who was still in high school exhibiting a couple of works. I was surprised of the concept and execution. Though still early in her work she's managed to sort out the idea first before executing. I think that most amateur photographers happen to have he best ideas sometimes. They become a little more unique in their thinking rather being experienced and think that most ideas are already taken. I'm hoping to see this one through with her in the years to come.

STILL LIFE #1 - PLATE & KNIFE

Friday, January 6, 2017

At Home / Cromwell, Ct / 2016

I started this body of work of shooting still life images of stuff in the kitchen using the available light I have. That area of my place provides me beautiful light in the morning. I started to create this relationship with the area and started creating work based on my fascination of this light. This was, I think, after breakfast.

Kase Long / Lowell, Ma / 2015

It's been a long time since I've seen this fellow. In fact this image was taken a long time ago. In all these years I don't know much about him. He's a homeowner doing his best working two jobs to just maintain. I'm sure this is going to be his life for a bit, but what can you do right? Gotta respect the hustle.

INSTANT PORTRAIT #1

Hartford, Ct / November 2016

Alright!! Happy New Year everyone!! Finally get to share this body of work I've been doing for the past few months. I gotta say it's definitely ongoing and I think I might even have it overlay for next year.

This guys is name Aaron. I met him at Open Studios Hartford as he was exhibiting some of his silver gelatin printed work. He reminded me of a fellow, Adrian Martinez, and which, surprisingly he knows of. This year I'm hoping to bring him on board and collaborate with him on a couple of projects.
