Snapshots (SFMOMA)

Thursday, June 30, 2011

A couple of weeks ago, Bladimir and I went to SFMOMA before we headed out to Haight and Ashbury for the block party. The exhibits were pretty weird and I couldn't get a real connection towards it.

I could've thought of these things, but I didn't. Modern art seems to find ways to make something out of nothing. I appreciate it for what it is, but at the same time I can't connect with it. Sorry guys.

Street Modeling

I actually photographed in the rain yesterday. I decided to shoot some stuff right after I was finished with class. It was pretty tricky to keep my camera and camera lens dry the whole time I was shooting. It poured pretty hard.

Shooting in the rain was a different experience. While in the street with Bladimir Munoz, he mentioned the color palette in these conditions seem more calm. It may just be the overcast weather muting the colors a tad bit. Overall, the experience was great and I hope that the weather will continue this way for a couple of days.

Street Modeling

I've been extremely busy with school and photography in general. I've been out on the street almost everyday. Above and below are some samples of what I've covered this weeks and last.

I'm back at it again today so expect some good coverage!

Lara

Last night I went back and looked through some old files. A lot of these images are outtakes from times I was shooting for something else. They usually stay inside my external HD unnoticed. Today, I present to you some images from the last few months.

Since I started following Rolo Tanedo's Blog I've been inspired to look closer at some of the things around me. I love his work especially when he converts his images to black and white. Later on I'll be looking through my old images again, but for now enjoy the images up above.

Street Modeling (Haight and Ashbury)

Street Modeling

Yesterday, Bladimir and I hung out at an event that took place in Haight and Ashbury. It was a block party full of festive individuals, pot and alcohol, and grilled meat. This was an opportunity for me to capture some interesting moments. Through it all I was able to get some people to do some portraits.

Note: I don't know what's going on with this cream color on my watermark, but for some reason it gave me a great idea to make my pictures look a lot better.

Street Modeling

It's been awhile since I've done this segment. While walking around the city I came across this woman on Powell Street. Her hair drew me towards the rest of the outfit.

Street Modeling

A day before the above shot I was walking around the city in the morning and happened to stop by these two individuals before going about my usual street shooting. They seemed chill enough to get their photograph taken (and i was drawn by the man's glasses). I dug their vibe. Just cool and collective.

Snapshots (Napa Valley)

I don't drink, but I was definitely intrigued by the many selections they had at V. Suitte Winery. They had various types of wines that involve the type of grape, age, and processes. Wine has different classes of taste so you have to choose wisely.

It was a great experience for the most part, but I wish they had some sort of root beer brewing company to visit. I rather drink that then wine any day.

Snapshots (Daly City to Fresno)

Sunday, June 5, 2011

This is just a little preview of what went on this past weekend. I'm still editing the photos of the graduation that I had photographed last Friday, so expect those to come out later this week. I also wanted to mention that I might want to do a small exhibit of this series if I have enough money to do it. I think it's so cool that I'm able to get into these small places and sneak a photograph. I love it and will continue the fun!
