Tying the Knot

Yup.. I'm gonna marry her. Have a happy New Year folks!

Day 365 of 365: Goodbye 365 - It was a Great Year

Sunday, December 30, 2012

Goodbye 365 - It was a Great Year

I can't believe from day one I was determined to finish a project I have never done before. I was able to keep myself motivated regardless if I felt out of touch with photography. Because of this commitment I realized how important it is to me. I realized that photography is not a hobby... it's a way of life. For years and years my photography had many failures. But I never gave up and it grew into something that I never thought it would grow into. It's an obsession, an addiction, looking through the frames of a world that I still don't understand. It's a passion, a mindset, a moment. I'm not sure where I will go from here, but I know that I have another great year ahead.

I want to thank all of my friends and family that have supported me on this project. I want to thank the people who understood my concepts and have helped me with whatever I needed just to make sure that I had something to write about for my 365. I know to some of you this may be a little thing, but to me.... to me... this project meant everything. Goodbye 365... I may see you again someday.

Day 364 of 365: It's Chill

Saturday, December 29, 2012

It's Chill

Yup.. that's me.. just chillin' on a chair with snow

Home Improvements

Hey everyone. Just wanted to let you know that I will be doing a lot of rearranging here so you will be seeing a new logo, new pages, and a new life. Hope you guys are having a great times for the holidays!!!

Day 362 of 365: Walk Through the Ice

Thursday, December 27, 2012

Walk Through the Ice

I know it may be early to post, but I'm wanting to just chill with my girl and possibly be heading out to some party tonight. I don't know why. Today I did come out of the apartment and photograph some of the nice nature we have in our backyard. It's a great place to live. Slow, but great.

Day 361 of 365: Baby It's Cold Outside

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

Baby It's Cold Outside

Only a few days left till this project is done and I am stuck here at my apartment with a slightly broken down truck and a PS3 playing Assassins Creed III. It's snowing right now and hopefully we get a lot of it. Till next time.. I'm Arthur Bueno

Day 360 of 365: Christmas Started at 11 Last Night. This is My Story

Tuesday, December 25, 2012

Christmas Started at 11 Last Night. This is my Story

Going to midnight mass, heading home, celebrate the noche buena, opening presents, sleeping, waking up, walking the dog, eating more, watching Christmas movies, and now sitting here doing a blog entry... I better shake off any excess weight that I might have gained over the weekend.

Day 359 of 365: The Eve - Xmas

Monday, December 24, 2012

The Eve - Xmas

Yup. Didn't do so much shooting today. When it comes to the holidays I seem to just slow down. I guess I do my best to embrace the festivities. To me, Christmas and New Years are just like any other days. The only difference is seeing people go ape on buying gifts and watching the media cover societies obsession for materialistic shit. No matter though. I'm pretty simple when it comes to this part of the year. Hang out, eat, drink tea and let it ride... yeah.. that's how I do.

Day 358 of 365: Taking the Bus - Back to Mass

Sunday, December 23, 2012

Taking the Bus - Back to Mass

Had to take the bus to Boston today since my car is screwed up. The bus ride to Boston wasn't that bad. It only took an hour or so to arrive at South Station. From there I got picked up, chilled with my gf's fam, and ended the night looking at Xmas lights.

Day 357 of 365: Self Portrait Living Room

Saturday, December 22, 2012

Self Portrait Living Room

All night. Lonely Nights.

Day 356 of 365: Rain No Shine

Friday, December 21, 2012

Rain No Shine

Same Story No Glory

Still Life Portfolio Now Up!

Still Life Portfolio Now Up

I just recently posted a Still Life section of my portfolio. At one point of doing these runs with friends and working alone I started acquiring a taste for still life work. If you know my man Theo he was one of the individuals that had inspired me to do this kind of work. This framing and choice of subject has always been unique to me. There's something about his work that just seems very off which describes his viewpoint of the world. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Day 355 of 365: Phone Photographs (Updated)

Thursday, December 20, 2012

Phone Photographs

Let's just say that my colleague, Sara, just has a bad night and I had to drive her home since her car had a flat tire. Not only that my check engine light is on. :(

Call and Response: Beat Up (Arthur & Theo)

Beat Up

Years ago I had gotten this photograph taken after we were attacked by a bunch of thugs at a skate park.

Day 354 of 365: For Nothing

For Nothing

Yup.. not really much here today

Day 353 of 365: Self

Me with a tie at work

Day 352 of 365: Landscape Final

Monday, December 17, 2012

Landscape Final

I finally got the opportunity to photograph my last portion of the landscape final. Not only that I was able to finish gathering up the majority of my other final projects from the design class to the documentary classes. It's been a productive day.

Day 351 of 365: Nothing Pictures

Sunday, December 16, 2012

Nothing Pictures

I went to work and it consumed most of the day. Now I am here talking about it. Nothing really happened. So, I decided to do a self portrait. Fun fun fun.

Day 350 of 365: The Quiet is Still Here

Saturday, December 15, 2012

The Quiet is Still Here

It's still in my mind how awful this incident was. Since reports have gone back and forth about what's been going with the shooter and the family and friends associated with him it still fact that people are dead. Let alone children. We can only do the best we can to support the victims of this tragedy. It is still a dark day with some days ahead.

Day 349 of 365: Shots Called - Emergency

Friday, December 14, 2012

Shots Called - Emergency

In the wake of the morning I went ahead and took my girlfriend to work before doing a couple of errands for the day. I stopped by the local car garage after taking my cat to the vet to get an oil change. While in the waiting room they had a T.V. broadcasting the "Today Show." Suddenly breaking news pops up about the Sandy Hook Elementary school under emergency. Reports have said shots have been fired. So after hearing the news, driving back to my girlfriend's workplace to deliver her food, I went home and absorbed whatever I could.

And that was it. I sat there, posting Facebook messages about the tragedy of the whole event. I sat there on the couch watching the news as the anchors deliver the breaking news each hour. I sat there trying to understand why a person could do such a horrible thing. My feed was flooded with thoughts about the tragedy.

As always the networks will twist and turn the facts, point the finger at the first person or group that are potential suspects, or develop subjects unrelated to and/or even inappropriate for what the real issue is. It becomes one big cluster of blame and opinion, accusations and solutions, ideas that don't even matter.

What is the real issue here? The issue is people are dead. Children are dead. Adults are dead. The parents are dead. In the time of the holidays you would think we would share our thanks to those surrounding us. You would think this would be a moment to make us unite and maybe even start again. And then there's this....

Take a step back.. look at what is being posted on the walls of your social networks, the T.V., and any media in front of you. Gather it up all in one. Now ask yourself... What is it that we are trying to fix?

It'll never make sense. Much like violence.

Day 348 of 365: Only a Few Minutes

Thursday, December 13, 2012

Only a Few Minutes

Really though I could have made more time to shoot today, but I was so preoccupied on other things that it didn't really matter. The shots I took were taken in such a short time heading back to my car from the cafe and walking my dog before going to work. The day was exhausting.

Day 347 of 365: Randoms

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

I'm not sure how I feel about this photo. I posted it up just because it was the only thing I could think of shooting at the moment. I actually forgot to bring my G12 while heading to the coffee shop to study with my girl. I did, however, bring my film cameras to take portraits of her. I'm kinda tired of shooting digital. It's just one of those things I guess.

Day 346 of 365: In the Clear

Tuesday, December 11, 2012

In the Clear

It was a quiet day...

Day 345 of 365: Foggy Landscapes

Monday, December 10, 2012

Foggy Landscapes

I drove around for awhile allowing my feelings to direct me towards places to photograph. It was quiet, lonely, but peaceful. It was nice to be at peace. This is what I saw. This is what I may see again.

Day 344 of 365: Morning/Colored

Sunday, December 9, 2012

I find myself photographing moments where a particular part of the day presents itself with unique colors and compositions that are just waiting to be captured. These are moments that go unnoticed, privately seen only to those who take a chance to see it, believe it, and have the ability to soak it in. A timeframe that will only be seen with open eyes. I'm fully aware how the landscapes changes day by day. I study it recognizing the quality it brings towards the surface. Let it come to you. Let the moment surface through. Let those words that you hear inside your head be the poem through what you see through a moment that can't be explained.

Day 343 of 365: Short/Sweet

Saturday, December 8, 2012

This is probably the only photograph that was interesting enough to post an entry on. I did not feel motivated to shoot. I wanted to relax, sleep, and do my thing at work. This shot was taken at the Cromwell Diner. I love that place.

Day 342 of 365: Nightly Momentarily

Friday, December 7, 2012

Nightly Momentarily

Gloomy days, wet nights, walk to work, do some work, walk to the truck, drive home, eat, go to sleep, stay awake, stay hungry, tired, repetition.

Vlog #58: Bronica ETRsi

I know I was supposed to post this yesterday, but I got busy with other things. Enjoy!

Day 341 of 365: The Girls of CT Bike Skatepark

Thursday, December 6, 2012

The Girls of CT Bike Skatepark

It was nice to see some girls do something that's not familiar with other girls. This shoot was for my documentary portraiture class that I have been gathering for the last few weeks. It definitely has evolved since its started. There's a lot of great vibes in this place and it is something I'm definitely loving each time I hang out there.

Day 340 of 365: A Run with Kacey Vidaud

Wednesday, December 5, 2012

A Run With Kacey Vidaud

As I start to get to know more people here in Connecticut I am getting more ideas of upcoming shoots. Today was a good day. The light was beautiful, I was able to shoot with my new medium format camera (details for tomorrows entry), and had fun hanging out with Kacey. I'm trying to get her more inspired to just shoot, get creative, and make some beautiful art. Hope this entry will inspire her more.

Day 339 of 365: At Night When it Closes

Tuesday, December 4, 2012

At Night When it Closes

Since I haven't had much time to shoot anything personal I usually do my best to find something interesting, even if I have a few minutes. Tonight I decided to photograph stuff that involved me getting ready to drive home. Night photography is still a foreign thing for me, so being able to photograph these images gives me a fresh sense of what I haven't done before. It is true.. there's always something to photograph.

Day 338 of 365: Tea Set

Monday, December 3, 2012

Tea Set

I kinda fucked up today. I had a shot that I took of the team at my job, but for some reason the chemistry decided to stick on the pamphlet that I put it in.... yeah.. totally fucked up.. so here is tea set..

Day 337 of 365: CT Bike Skatepark (Another Preview)

Sunday, December 2, 2012

CT Bike Skatepark (Another Preview)

As I head closer to ending this project I'm realizing how much fun I have photographing these individuals. I really love working with these kids. It really is fun.

Day 336 of 365: Last Month - Day 1 - Boston

Saturday, December 1, 2012

=Last Month - Day 1 - Boston

I'm here in Massachusetts with my gf and her fam. We got a chance to hang out in Boston and watch the Grinch musical. Throughout the day, however, I felt pretty exhausted from all the traveling we had to do from the night before. All in all things were pretty chill today. Certain pictures were taken by Donna

Day 335 of 365: At Grand Central Station

Friday, November 30, 2012

At Grand Central Station

Today was just a fucked up day as far as shooting and uploading is concerned. I'm right now at Grand Central Station waiting for my gf's brother to get here.. I had something planned, but I will probably post it for another day. Maybe even tomo

Day 334 of 365: This Town on Film

Thursday, November 29, 2012

This Town on Film

Since I was able to get that pack of film for my land camera I went ahead and started photographing around the town. The images are for a small series I took for my landscape class. It was interesting nonetheless. I will be starting a whole new project next year dealing with polaroid film. Until then.. stay tuned.

Day 333 of 365: In the Studio

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

In the Studio

Hope my buddy Joe doesn't get upset about this post, but I snuck some shots of the studio today. I didn't really shoot much, but it was enough to show what the atmosphere is like. Saks Fifth Ave really makes my other job look so small. I really want to work here more often.

Day 332 of 365: The Brief Snow

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

The Brief Snow

Not much happened other than some snow landing in our town. It was actually nice seeing those small flakes hit the ground and make everything look white. These are days I'm not usually used to, but it's something I can embrace. I like this side of the country...

Day 331 of 365: Assignment 11.1 - Tell a Cultural Story

Monday, November 26, 2012

Assignment 11.1 - Tell a Cultural Story

Today, I had the opportunity to finish one of my assignments before the deadline tonight. This assignment was for my Landscape/Architecture class. We were assigned to tell a cultural story of our home surroundings. I make the images seem more isolated with lots of space (considering this is how I feel about the town). It was nice to just get out and photograph stuff again. Work really takes a lot of my time now and the next few days aren't going to be so pretty.

Day 330 of 365: The Mall

Sunday, November 25, 2012

The Mall

I haven't been able to photograph anything interesting, but today I did the best I could to find those shots. Since I work at the Mall and its X-mas time some of these installations are in for the whole season. This is probably the only cool thing I could get out of today... the rest... bullshit.

Day 329 of 365: I'm Tired

Saturday, November 24, 2012

I'm Tired

Working after a weekend blows.

Day 328 of 365: Black Friday

Friday, November 23, 2012

Black Friday

Seriously.. who gives a shit

Thanksgiving in a Hospital: A Rolo Tanedo Story

This morning I looked through my dashboards of Facebook and Tumblr and saw that my friend Rolo was in the hospital. Concerned by the event I went ahead and followed the link he posted up just to see what happened. Turns out he happened to have a blood clot in the size of his hand on his left lung. This started Thanksgiving morning. He was rushed to a hospital and was given a couple of tests to determine how and why he was in this condition. From what I understand it's still up in the air.

This story brings me to the aspects of Thanksgiving and what really matters. I know that I don't post up enough personal outlooks on things, but todays entry was very significant to me. Most of our friends and family would seem fine in many moments. But when a potential tragedy occurs will determine how you react and what you've done leading up to this particular situation. Did you love life? Who did you kiss? Are you feelin' okay? I might be over looking in this but this is a friend of mine that I respect.

Mindy (fiance of Rolo that I barely know, but would like to know more) had documented a good portion of the status Rolo was undergoing during the treatment. The images displayed on his blog are the most powerful I've seen and they aren't pictures that were taken by him. These are portraits of a kid who is showing the most vulnerable part of his life and allowing everyone to be involved with it.

Hope you guys had a good Thanksgiving. For Rolo... this one must've sucked.

You can follow him on his Blog and his Tumblr. The images are up so take a gander and think about it. Glad that you're okay my friend.

Day 327 of 365: A Thoughtful - Thankful One

Thursday, November 22, 2012

A Thoughtful - Thankful One

I am with not many words to say other than Happy Thanksgiving to all. Hope you guys have a good one.

Day 326 of 365: Before I Leave

Wednesday, November 21, 2012

Before I Leave

I'm doing a post way early since I'll be spending the rest of the day at work and the rest of the night driving to Lowell. I'm not motivated to do anything, but that's the feeling of fall/winter for ya. Oh well.. gotta get ready for work.

Day 325 of 365: Driving By

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Driving By

Again, the motivation to shoot has been pretty quiet. I think since it's almost the end of the year I kind of want to close this chapter already. I have new projects that I want to start, but I have to finish this first... *sigh*... another day.

Day 324 of 365: New Haven Runs

Monday, November 19, 2012

New Haven Runs

I went to New Haven today to deposit a check that I received in the mail. It's 20 minutes away from where I live so I wanted to make it count and shoot around before heading back home. I wanted to do something different today. I photographed most of these images shooting from the hip. They give some pretty interesting compositions so the results are what you see on this post. Might have to do more of these kinds of pictures soon.

Day 323 of 365: At the Diner

Sunday, November 18, 2012

At the Diner

I didn't take much photos today. I've had a pretty busy day getting groceries, doing some chores, and working on school work. I'm falling a little behind, but what do you expect when it's toward the end of the semester.

Day 322 of 365: CT Skatepark Crew (Previews)

Saturday, November 17, 2012

CT Skatepark Crew (Preview)

Today I went back to the skate park to photograph one of my longterm assignments for my portraiture class. I'm not gonna go to into much detail as I am still working on what I'm looking for through the project. Overall the people there are really awesome. It was a great day.

Day 321 of 365: Polaroid Tests

Friday, November 16, 2012

Polaroid Tests

Earlier today I decided to pick up a pack of polaroids to test my camera. It worked!! but there are some things that I need to learn about polaroid photography. Through the process I realize that I need to make more tests to get more comfortable with the whole thing. I'm liking it so far and it's going to be loads of fun when I know how much control I have. I'm stoked on the results so stay tuned for more polaroid work in the near future!

Day 320 of 365: The Polaroid Land Camera

Thursday, November 15, 2012

The Polaroid Land Camera

I finally broke down and got myself a Polaroid camera. It isn't just any camera though.. It's the Polaroid Land Camera 104. The setup was only $17. I'm actually using this camera for an upcoming project I will be doing with a friend of mine. Details are still in progress, but I will let you know when we get the full spectrum down.
