Day 335 of 365: At Grand Central Station

Friday, November 30, 2012

At Grand Central Station

Today was just a fucked up day as far as shooting and uploading is concerned. I'm right now at Grand Central Station waiting for my gf's brother to get here.. I had something planned, but I will probably post it for another day. Maybe even tomo

Day 334 of 365: This Town on Film

Thursday, November 29, 2012

This Town on Film

Since I was able to get that pack of film for my land camera I went ahead and started photographing around the town. The images are for a small series I took for my landscape class. It was interesting nonetheless. I will be starting a whole new project next year dealing with polaroid film. Until then.. stay tuned.

Day 333 of 365: In the Studio

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

In the Studio

Hope my buddy Joe doesn't get upset about this post, but I snuck some shots of the studio today. I didn't really shoot much, but it was enough to show what the atmosphere is like. Saks Fifth Ave really makes my other job look so small. I really want to work here more often.

Day 332 of 365: The Brief Snow

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

The Brief Snow

Not much happened other than some snow landing in our town. It was actually nice seeing those small flakes hit the ground and make everything look white. These are days I'm not usually used to, but it's something I can embrace. I like this side of the country...

Day 331 of 365: Assignment 11.1 - Tell a Cultural Story

Monday, November 26, 2012

Assignment 11.1 - Tell a Cultural Story

Today, I had the opportunity to finish one of my assignments before the deadline tonight. This assignment was for my Landscape/Architecture class. We were assigned to tell a cultural story of our home surroundings. I make the images seem more isolated with lots of space (considering this is how I feel about the town). It was nice to just get out and photograph stuff again. Work really takes a lot of my time now and the next few days aren't going to be so pretty.

Day 330 of 365: The Mall

Sunday, November 25, 2012

The Mall

I haven't been able to photograph anything interesting, but today I did the best I could to find those shots. Since I work at the Mall and its X-mas time some of these installations are in for the whole season. This is probably the only cool thing I could get out of today... the rest... bullshit.

Day 329 of 365: I'm Tired

I'm Tired

Working after a weekend blows.

Day 328 of 365: Black Friday

Black Friday

Seriously.. who gives a shit

Thanksgiving in a Hospital: A Rolo Tanedo Story

This morning I looked through my dashboards of Facebook and Tumblr and saw that my friend Rolo was in the hospital. Concerned by the event I went ahead and followed the link he posted up just to see what happened. Turns out he happened to have a blood clot in the size of his hand on his left lung. This started Thanksgiving morning. He was rushed to a hospital and was given a couple of tests to determine how and why he was in this condition. From what I understand it's still up in the air.

This story brings me to the aspects of Thanksgiving and what really matters. I know that I don't post up enough personal outlooks on things, but todays entry was very significant to me. Most of our friends and family would seem fine in many moments. But when a potential tragedy occurs will determine how you react and what you've done leading up to this particular situation. Did you love life? Who did you kiss? Are you feelin' okay? I might be over looking in this but this is a friend of mine that I respect.

Mindy (fiance of Rolo that I barely know, but would like to know more) had documented a good portion of the status Rolo was undergoing during the treatment. The images displayed on his blog are the most powerful I've seen and they aren't pictures that were taken by him. These are portraits of a kid who is showing the most vulnerable part of his life and allowing everyone to be involved with it.

Hope you guys had a good Thanksgiving. For Rolo... this one must've sucked.

You can follow him on his Blog and his Tumblr. The images are up so take a gander and think about it. Glad that you're okay my friend.

Day 327 of 365: A Thoughtful - Thankful One

Thursday, November 22, 2012

A Thoughtful - Thankful One

I am with not many words to say other than Happy Thanksgiving to all. Hope you guys have a good one.

Day 326 of 365: Before I Leave

Wednesday, November 21, 2012

Before I Leave

I'm doing a post way early since I'll be spending the rest of the day at work and the rest of the night driving to Lowell. I'm not motivated to do anything, but that's the feeling of fall/winter for ya. Oh well.. gotta get ready for work.

Day 325 of 365: Driving By

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Driving By

Again, the motivation to shoot has been pretty quiet. I think since it's almost the end of the year I kind of want to close this chapter already. I have new projects that I want to start, but I have to finish this first... *sigh*... another day.

Day 324 of 365: New Haven Runs

Monday, November 19, 2012

New Haven Runs

I went to New Haven today to deposit a check that I received in the mail. It's 20 minutes away from where I live so I wanted to make it count and shoot around before heading back home. I wanted to do something different today. I photographed most of these images shooting from the hip. They give some pretty interesting compositions so the results are what you see on this post. Might have to do more of these kinds of pictures soon.

Day 323 of 365: At the Diner

Sunday, November 18, 2012

At the Diner

I didn't take much photos today. I've had a pretty busy day getting groceries, doing some chores, and working on school work. I'm falling a little behind, but what do you expect when it's toward the end of the semester.

Day 322 of 365: CT Skatepark Crew (Previews)

Saturday, November 17, 2012

CT Skatepark Crew (Preview)

Today I went back to the skate park to photograph one of my longterm assignments for my portraiture class. I'm not gonna go to into much detail as I am still working on what I'm looking for through the project. Overall the people there are really awesome. It was a great day.

Day 321 of 365: Polaroid Tests

Friday, November 16, 2012

Polaroid Tests

Earlier today I decided to pick up a pack of polaroids to test my camera. It worked!! but there are some things that I need to learn about polaroid photography. Through the process I realize that I need to make more tests to get more comfortable with the whole thing. I'm liking it so far and it's going to be loads of fun when I know how much control I have. I'm stoked on the results so stay tuned for more polaroid work in the near future!

Day 320 of 365: The Polaroid Land Camera

Thursday, November 15, 2012

The Polaroid Land Camera

I finally broke down and got myself a Polaroid camera. It isn't just any camera though.. It's the Polaroid Land Camera 104. The setup was only $17. I'm actually using this camera for an upcoming project I will be doing with a friend of mine. Details are still in progress, but I will let you know when we get the full spectrum down.

Day 319 of 365: Simple Shapes

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

Simple Shapes

Haven't been much happenings in my part. Since the 365 project is almost close to over my motivation levels have slowed down. Maybe my methods are too repetitious? Anyway these images are from outside the Emporium Cafe. So, enjoy!

Day 318 of 365: Small Snaps of the Night

Tuesday, November 13, 2012

Small Snaps of the Night

Work in the morning, interview at Urban Outfitters, not much sleep and I need to finish homework which will probably be done tomorrow or the following few days. The grind starts.

Day 317 of 365: Daily Life

Monday, November 12, 2012

Daily Life

I tried to shoot stuff today. It went okay. Nothing special

People When They First Wake Up: A Kasey Vidaud Series

I just recently friended Kasey at a job we both work at. We swapped info, talked about our thoughts on photography, and ate lunch at Sbarro. She's a very chill girl who has aspirations of becoming a full time artist. Today I present a series of images that I thought was an interesting concept.

Day 316 of 365: A Start of a Winter Season

Sunday, November 11, 2012

A Start for a Winter Season

Going through intense weather conditions, getting a new job, finishing up some school work, and trying to find motivation to shoot in-between... its days like these that I wonder how I can fit everything in one day. It's not like I'm neglecting my 365 project, but I haven't been motivated to do anything other than school and work. It's been exhausting, but I managed to get more sleep than usual. I need some rest.

Day 315 of 365: Staying In

Saturday, November 10, 2012

Staying In

Since my girlfriend is away I've been at home alone trying to get these assignments done. I'm on call for the weekend so I couldn't head to Massachusetts to hangout with some family. I got the call this morning that they didn't need me and will call me tomorrow if they do. Kinda sucks. I did, however, got the majority of my school work done. I don't feel like I'm back on track with everything, but I'm slowly getting there. I only have a few weeks left until this semester ends so I'm trying to make it count as much as possible. These pictures I took today are just images that I thought looked interesting from the window light.

Day 314 of 365: Fuck It

Friday, November 9, 2012

Fuck It

It's been a long day

Day 312 of 365: And Just Like That It Snows

Wednesday, November 7, 2012

And Just Like That It Snows

As the election accepts Obama back for another four years East Coast happens to start snowing at 11am this morning. Not knowing if the snow would stick I was at work doing what I needed to do learning what I need to learn (yeah.. I got a job.. I'll tell you later). Until my boss realized that a slight storm of snow was headed our way we were excused to head back home just in case it got worse. I tell you that driving was a pain in the ass and I am not looking forward to dealing with it.

Day 311 of 365: Vote

Tuesday, November 6, 2012

Not gonna lie. I'm pretty nervous.

Day 310 of 365: Plant

Monday, November 5, 2012

I got some flash units in the mail that I got for free by my former lab tech in Fresno City College, Dan Wong. The flashes were donated to him which no one wanted. And since I'm a big fan of using those old flashes I wanted to see if I could cop it from him. Sure enough it came in the mail today and I was able to play around with it. I will take a pic of it later, but for right now this is one of the shots I took using this minolta flash that was included in the assortment.

Day 309 of 365: Driving to NY - Back to CT

Sunday, November 4, 2012

Driving to NY - Back to CT

Had to drive my gf's brother back to Brooklyn. He might be working tomorrow if the subways go back online and all the electricity in Manhattan turns on. It's been almost a week since this event has occurred and things are just about to pick up again. Let's hope for the best.

Day 308 of 365: CT Indoor Skatepark Part 2 (Previews)

Saturday, November 3, 2012

CT Indoor Skatepark Part 2

The image above and the following images below are just a preview of what I've been working on the past couple of days. It's been a lot of extensive shooting and figuring out what I'm really looking for in this project. It's modeled for a final I will attempt to complete for my Doc/Portraiture class. I'm trying to focus on the economic background of this indoor park, but it seems as though it's changing into something different. I will have to talk to my instructor about this.

Day 307 of 365: CT Indoor Skatepark

Friday, November 2, 2012

CT Indoor Skatepark

I will be documenting the first built indoor skatepark in the next few weeks for my portraiture class. I think this will be pretty interesting. These are just samples of what's to come in the next few weeks.
