DRINKIN' COFFEE, 2 PANCAKES ON PLATE, HOT SAUCE, AND AN 8:00 AM SCHEDULE

For the most part these have been very difficult to deal with in the state job world. As I'm typing this thousands of individuals will be laid off due to the fiscal budget. My division is seeing some heavy change letting go some seniors, some freshman, and even a manager who made his presence known by his consistent efforts of helping us deal with politics in the workplace.

I'm here at the moment with a cup of coffee and some pancakes ready to head out a 8-5 shift. The thought of knowing that I won't have a job today, tomorrow, next week, or next month is horrifying. Bills need to be paid and money needs to be saved. I want my future to look blue. Not gray. But because of my position I'm left feeling anxious about the possibilities of it all.

I can almost feel the same about being an artist. Quite honestly I'm glad that I'm not a working photographer, but since the state in a state of stress I think it's time to look for something that meets my needs. You know.... the effort to be more creative? I don't have to be a working photographer. I could do photo edits, help build sets, clean the toilet and whatever. Just as long as they pay me good money I guess right?

I don't know. At this moment I'm willing to be creative as a career. I think I'm ready to leave the plain desk and move to a creative one.
