Dayv,

I’ve followed you for about four or five months, and I can’t even begin to tell you how funny it’s been. To even use the word photography when looking at your “photography” does the entire photography world an injustice. You’re a hack, and your shit is pathetic. I’ve since unfollowed you because the novelty has worn off, and I started feeling sorry for you. If I thought asking you to attend my photography lectures would help, I would, but from what I have read in your interviews, you’re hopeless and I truly am sorry that you have no hope to amounting to anything in the photography world.

Incidentally, I know I will because I have money and my parents have friends and well…shit just works out for me. So keep dreaming the dream and maybe one day I’ll buy your ridiculous book because I know it’ll get your hopes up and then soon after reality will kick in and I’ll know I helped sink you that much further into hell.

I hate your art.

So I've read this a couple of times. I don't know if this person is straight up trolling or not, but by looking at this it seemed pretty genuine to me. Criticism has an awful side sometimes and for many artists it has affected them positively or negatively. For most of us the criticism has given us a negative outlook toward how we approach our work. It becomes stale and its passion fades away. To others it was a way to prove the critics wrong and make them feel stupid. All in all the person emailing Dayv truly hated him just because he didn't like his persona and the art it relates it with. This guy is probably a pure fuck waving his money at people. Maybe his parents give him too much praise because he has cute stick figure drawings of his family. Have fun in the art world whoever you are because I'm pretty sure you're not going to last.
